CentraleSupélec Masters

The Master's programs that CentraleSupélec coordinates or contributes to are high-level programs, open to French or international students holding at least a bachelor's or degree, and to students at the end of their engineering cycle.

These programs lead to the national master's degree and offer an easily identifiable international level diploma, corresponding to the "M" level in Europe. It leads to further studies at a doctorate or to direct integration at a high level within the company. The CentraleSupélec Master's program reflects the major areas of development of its research in line with the needs of its academic and industrial partners.

Programmes

On its Paris-Saclay campus, CentraleSupélec coordinates or collaborates on around sixty Master's programs. These programs lead to the national Master's degree from the University of Paris-Saclay, of which CentraleSupélec is a founding member.

Within the Graduate School of Engineering and Systems Sciences, CentraleSupélec coordinates 16 Master's programs, grouped into 5 specializations: 1 Master's from the Graduate School of Computer Science and 1 Master's from the Graduate School of Biosphera. They are administratively managed by the School's Master's program division.

CentraleSupélec faculty members also teach 42 other Master's programs at various University Graduate Schools. These programs are coordinated by other institutions within the Université Paris-Saclay, which provide academic and administrative management.   • The primary objective of this program is to provide a solid foundation in all areas of engineering science related to electronics, energy, automation, computer engineering, telecommunications, and signal and image processing. English and general education courses are also offered.

    Courses beginning in the second semester allow students to gradually specialize in the fields of telecommunications, systems, information processing, micro-nanoelectronics and micro-nanotechnologies, instrumentation, energy conversion and processing. In the second year, research, professional, or undifferentiated training courses give the final color to the diploma.

    Two programs are offered entirely off-site. The standard Communication and Data Engineering program will be taught in Hanoi, Vietnam, in partnership with VNU-UET. The M2 Higher Education Training in Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, Automation, Electronics, and Telecom is offered in Tunis in partnership with UFTAM with a tailored program, in addition to the original program at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay.

  • The training offer encompasses, in a comprehensive and transversal manner, the field of energy (physics of the many sources, production, conversion, storage, management) and its complex intertwining with transport in the broad sense. The energy produced must, in fact, be able to be efficiently transported and used. The transport of goods and people itself requires energy and therefore requires improvements in propulsion methods (electric, hybrid, combustion propulsion), energy conversion and storage, and structures (lightening, strength, assembly processes).

    The themes covered in the Master's in Energy (innovative materials, new energy technologies, networks, sustainable mobility) are widely represented in the research activities of partner institutions and R&D centers in the region. Indeed, this training is based on an exceptional network in the field of energy, at the Plateau de Saclay level: 2 Institutes of Energy Transition (IPVF on photovoltaics, VEDECOM on low-carbon mobility) and numerous academic (CNRS, CEA, etc.) and industrial (Renault, PSA, Thales, Safran, EDF, etc.) research laboratories.

  • This specialization coordinates the specialties, mainly research-oriented, relating to civil engineering (construction, geotechnics, transport, hydraulics, environment) and subsoil engineering. For aspects related to constructions in their environment, expertise and continuity of knowledge from the material to the structure are expected. In addition, mastery of the construction process, comfort conditions and durability of buildings are important elements of the training. Regarding subsoil engineering, in addition to the strong interaction between the soil and buildings, the exploration and exploitation of reservoirs and storage (water, gas, oil, CO2, waste, etc.) is one of the major objectives.

  • The Master's in Complex Systems Engineering (ISC) aims to understand the modeling, design and management of product systems, processes and organizations (particularly industrial), by making extensive use of modeling sciences, systems engineering and systems sciences as well as industrial engineering.

    In terms of disciplines, this master's degree is at the interface between applied mathematics, computer science, operational research, mechanics, automation, economics, and the management and control of design and production tools. It refers to organizational sciences, the analysis of interacting agent systems, and the study of technical and organizational systems. It aims to build bridges between modeling, digital simulation, design, control, and optimization of socio-technical systems for industry and services.

  • Aeronautics, space, transport, energy, environment, biomedical… are all fields that rely on advances in research in mechanics and mechanical engineering for their development. In this broad context, the UPS Mechanics Specialization courses are aimed at students with a Bachelor's degree (obtained in Mechanics or equivalent) with a particular interest in digital and experimental sciences, curiosity and scientific rigor.

    The objectives of the Mention are:

    • to provide a framework within the University of Paris-Saclay to coordinate Master's courses in the field of mechanics,
    • to offer students courses associated with innovative fields of research,
    • to offer students the possibility of an apprenticeship,
    • to strengthen the international influence of a community united within the University of Paris-Saclay,
    • to attract the best students from around the world.

    The Mechanics Mention therefore aims to provide students with solid training that is accessible both in theoretical and practical learning so that they can easily integrate into the world of work, in France (both in large companies and in SMEs and SMIs in the Ile-de-France industrial basin) and abroad.

  • The Master's degree in Computer Science at Paris-Saclay University trains the researchers and computer engineers of tomorrow, capable of tackling major challenges such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, the Internet of Things, Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing.

    It offers students a mastery of the foundations, methodologies and technologies of computer science, thanks to a broad thematic spectrum of Teaching Units (UE) including the fields of artificial intelligence, data science, networks and optimization, network security, parallel and distributed programming, human-machine interaction and theoretical computer science.

    The spirit of this master's degree is to allow students not only to specialize in a field through a course but also to open up to other themes by having the possibility of following free teaching units from other courses.
    The master's degree is now two years long: students who validate their M1 are systematically admitted to the corresponding M2 course.

  • The objective of the specialization is to offer training covering all modeling issues on the subjects of energy, climate and natural resources, environment, food and mobility through economic aspects, with an analytical dimension and a prospective dimension. Graduates must have the skills to design strategies to address energy, environmental and agri-food challenges, particularly with regard to climate change, overexploitation of natural resources, water and air pollution, land use (food/bioenergy) and the transition to a decarbonized world. They must be able to integrate these strategies into production, service and consulting professions. They must also have the scientific knowledge allowing the most motivated to integrate private and public research.

    Global challenges, whether related to energy, food, or the environment, require the mobilization of multiple knowledge and integrated approaches. Graduates must:

    • master economic theory and its applications to decision-making;
    • be immediately operational upon leaving the course, knowing how to set up data processing, statistical and econometric methods as well as the necessary IT resources;
    • understand political, economic and scientific issues and be aware of recent developments in research;
    • have managerial knowledge (cost-benefit analysis, decision-making in the face of uncertainty, controversy management) as well as "soft skills" (knowledge of sectors, ability to debate on political issues, negotiation).

     

The Master's Program offered by the Metz Campus is co-accredited with the University of Lorraine. The Master's program is organized into the following specializations.

Who is this semester for?

  • Open to any student currently enrolled in a first or second year of a Master's program, regardless of their discipline. The program is also accessible after a second year of a Master's program.
  • Each person is part of a multidisciplinary team of 4 to 6 students formed to carry out a mission.
  • Students are selected based on their motivation, personality, academic qualities and the suitability of their profile for the mission.

The Master's program offered by the Rennes Campus is co-accredited with the University of Rennes, INSA Rennes, and ENS de Rennes. The Master's program is organized into the following standard programs. 

Admissions are only at the M2 level.

Admissions

  • Thank you for using the online application platform of theParis-Saclay University from January 15.

    The response time can vary from one to several months depending on the course, the nature of the file and the date of validation of the file by the candidate.

    For any validation after June 15:

    • the files of candidates already registered at a member establishment of the University of Paris-Saclay (M1 student or engineering student) will be processed.
    • the files of candidates who join a member establishment of the University of Paris-Saclay as part of an exchange program (national or international) will be processed.
    • the files of national candidates (who live in France) will be processed on a case-by-case basis.
    • Applications from international candidates (who live abroad and require a visa) will not be processed.

     

    CAUTION: Due to the limited capacity of these programs, do not wait until the deadline to submit your application. In addition, if you are a foreign national, you must take into account the time required to obtain your study visa from the consular authorities, which can sometimes be lengthy.

    IMPORTANT: For the attention of candidates of foreign nationality [outside the European Union and European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra]:

    Learn in parallel with the consular authorities to find out how to obtain your study visa. Some authorities may ask you, depending on your country of origin, to use the system "Studies in France". In any case, an application made on this platform alone is not sufficient. This process must be carried out in parallel to the mandatory submission of your application for the training of your choice on the platform of theParis-Saclay University

  • Engineering students interested in the Masters offered by the Metz campus are requested to contact the head of their third-year engineering course. 

  • Engineering students interested in the Masters offered by the Rennes campus are requested to contact the head of their third-year engineering course. 

Tuition fees

  • The rates will apply to any new student in M1 or M2 of the international course.

    A student who has already started M1 will also pay the fees for M2 if they continue on the course.

    The terms of existing exchange agreements with CentraleSupélec's international partners will be respected, i.e., the rates will be applied where applicable. The renewal of the agreements has taken these new rates into account.

  • International Mobility Grant (IDEX Paris-Saclay)

    The IDEX Paris-Saclay project, of which CentraleSupélec is a partner, aims to promote the international openness of Master's level training provided within partner establishments and thus facilitate the reception of high-level international students who wish to develop a training project through research up to doctoral level.

    Thus, for each academic year, scholarships will be awarded for a period of one year (in the case of admission to the 2nd year of the master's degree) and renewable (in the case of admission to the 1st year of the master's degree, subject to success), to international students to join a master's program at CentraleSupélec.

    Candidates must first submit an application online (Apply section). The training manager selects candidates from among those admitted to whom he will propose applying for this scholarship. The candidate is then informed by email so that he can complete his file for the scholarship application; in particular, he must provide the email addresses of two referees who must complete their recommendation online before the deadline specified in the framework letter each calendar year on the UPScalay website.

    Students will need to apply on the Paris-Saclay University website.

  • Eligible students retain their right to CROUS social criteria scholarshipForeign students may be eligible for a scholarship from the French government, for which information should be obtained from the French Embassy in your home country.

    Various financial or material aids are also offered by theParis-Saclay University and the campuses of Metz et Rennes.

    You may also be eligible for a housing assistance by the CAF (Family Allowance Fund).
