Become an Engineer Specializing in Computer Science

The course trains engineers who combine in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of computer science with an openness to the systemic and societal challenges of digital technology.
Students master the technical tools of their discipline to model, develop, certify et optimiser software, information systems or intelligent applications, while integrating the dimensions of security, performance et ethical.
They also develop skills in communication, teamwork, project management and independent learning, enabling them to adapt to complex and multidisciplinary environments.

Course Objectives:

  • Train engineers capable of design efficient and secure computer systems and software.
  • Developing skills in artificial intelligence, autonomous robotics, and data science.
  • Integrate a multidisciplinary vision, including socio-ecological issues and the principles of ethics and Responsibility Law

Program

A 3-year course

The training is spread over six semesters, with academic semesters combined with professional internships. Those in spring (S6, S8, S10) include a period of in-company training (internship). In the third year, students can choose to complete the alternating training, which allows them to work in a company while continuing their studies.

The lessons are divided into 4 areas:

  • Engineering Sciences
  • Humanities, Business and Professionalization
  • Techniques and technologies
  • Computer science

Careers in IT

Graduates can join companies, laboratories or public institutions in France or internationally, in industrial, academic or entrepreneurial contexts.

After completing the training, engineers can work in the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence Engineer: Design of algorithms for machine learning and data processing.
  • Robotic systems developer: Programming autonomous robots for industry, health or transport.
  • IT Project Manager: Management of software development or IT infrastructure projects for secure applications.
  • Information Systems Architect: Design and secure information systems architecture to meet the complex needs of businesses.

The course also prepares students for pursuing a thesis.

Registration fees - Financing

  • From the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, CentraleSupélec will adapt the registration fees for the engineering course to the resources of families, in order to strengthen its commitment to equal opportunities and social openness.

Students receiving scholarships will remain exempt, while the rights of non-scholarship students will be adjusted according to their reference tax income per share:

    • Students receiving social criteria-based scholarships will remain exempt.

    • For non-scholarship students, the amount will be progressive and between €2,500 (for the 4 poorest deciles) and €5,000 (for the 2 most advantaged deciles).

This initiative aims to promote diversity and further open access to the school's excellent training programs.

A simulator for annual registration fees is available here: registration fee calculator.

The amount determined upon entry to the school will be maintained for the entire duration of schooling.
