Digital Systems Engineer
A standard high level at the heart of digital technologies, from signal processing to embedded artificial intelligence.
Proposed on the Rennes campus, the Digital Systems engineering training at CentraleSupélec trains engineers capable of designing, developing and implementing innovative solutions integrating communicating systems, embedded systems and data science.
The course is based on a multidisciplinary approach: signal processing, artificial intelligence, digital electronics, wireless communication, optimization, etc. It is based on a strong grounding in current and future industrial realities, with both theoretical and applied teaching.
Become a Digital Systems Engineer
The course trains engineers capable of combining in-depth scientific and technical expertise with a comprehensive understanding of the issues related to their field.
Students learn to use modern technical tools to analyze complex problems, design innovative systems and propose robust solutions, in a multidisciplinary approach.
They also develop their skills in communication, teamwork and independent learning, in order to be able to respond to the new challenges of complex and interconnected digital systems.
Program
A 3-year course
The training is spread over six semesters, with academic semesters combined with professional internships. Those in spring (S6, S8, S10) include a period of in-company training (internship). In the third year, students can choose to complete the alternating training, which allows them to work in a company while continuing their studies.
The lessons are divided into 4 areas:
- Humanities, Business and Professionalization
- Information processing
- Communicating systems
- Digital electronics
weeks of internship
minimum weeks of international experience
present in 80 countries
compulsory modern languages
Admissions
CentraleSupélec offers numerous opportunities to join its general engineering program. Find below the access routes to the CentraleSupélec general engineering program as well as the number of places offered in 2025.
Careers
The training prepares students for a variety of careers in the digital, electronics, telecommunications, artificial intelligence and embedded systems sectors.
Graduates can work in positions such as:
- Signal Processing Engineer: Design of algorithms for signal processing and analysis.
- Data Analyst: Design of advanced AI-based methods for data extraction, modeling and interpretation.
- Embedded Systems Architect: Development and optimization of intelligent systems integrated into various environments.
- Digital communications expert: Network deployment and data transmission optimization.
- Project manager in electronics and digital systems: Management of innovation projects in collaboration with technical teams and industrial partners.
Registration fees - Financing
-
From the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, CentraleSupélec will adapt the registration fees for the engineering course to the resources of families, in order to strengthen its commitment to equal opportunities and social openness.
Students receiving scholarships will remain exempt, while the rights of non-scholarship students will be adjusted according to their reference tax income per share:Students receiving social criteria-based scholarships will remain exempt.
For non-scholarship students, the amount will be progressive and between €2,500 (for the 4 poorest deciles) and €5,000 (for the 2 most advantaged deciles).
This initiative aims to promote diversity and further open access to the school's excellent training programs.
A simulator for annual registration fees is available here: registration fee calculator.
The amount determined upon entry to the school will be maintained for the entire duration of schooling.
