Energy Engineer
An engineering background high level to meet the challenges of the energy transition through systems sciences

Proposed on the Rennes campus, the engineering course in Systems Sciences for Sustainable Energy trains profiles capable of designing, modeling, managing and optimizing the energy systems of tomorrow.
The training combines advanced scientific skills, a systemic approach to energy issues and knowledge of environmental, economic and societal challenges. It is based on lessons integrating Energy, modelization, IT, Sustainability et transitions, with progressive specialization throughout the course.
Become an Energy Engineer
The course trains engineers capable of combining in-depth scientific and technical expertise with a comprehensive understanding of the issues related to the energy transition.
Students acquire mastery of tools for modeling, simulation, control and optimization of complex systems, and know how to apply them to current and future energy infrastructures.
They also develop their skills in communication, teamwork and independent learning, enabling them to adapt to increasingly complex systems and the multidimensional challenges of energy sustainability.
Course Objectives:
- To train engineers with advanced expertise in electrical engineering and energy systems management.
- Develop skills in modeling, simulation, control and optimization of complex systems.
- Integrate societal and environmental issues into project management and decision-making.
- Enable a multidisciplinary understanding of energy systems, with a focus on the transition to renewable energies and energy efficiency
Program
A 3-year course
The training is spread over six semesters, with academic semesters combined with professional internships. Those in spring (S6, S8, S10) include a period of in-company training (internship). In the third year, students can choose to complete the alternating training, which allows them to work in a company while continuing their studies.
The lessons are divided into 6 areas:
- Humanities, Business and Professionalization
- Science
- Energy
- Industrial
- System
- Transitions
weeks of internship
minimum weeks of international experience
present in 80 countries
compulsory modern languages
