Becoming an Electrical Engineering Specialist

The course trains engineers capable of combining in-depth scientific and technical expertise with a comprehensive understanding of the issues related to the energy transition.
Students acquire mastery of tools for modeling, simulation, control and optimization of complex systems, and know how to apply them to current and future energy infrastructures.
They also develop their skills in communication, teamwork and independent learning, enabling them to adapt to increasingly complex systems and the multidimensional challenges of energy sustainability.

Course objectives:

  • To train engineers with advanced expertise in electrical engineering and energy systems management.
  • Develop skills in modeling, simulation, control and optimization of complex systems.
  • Integrate societal and environmental issues into project management and decision-making.
  • Enable a multidisciplinary understanding of energy systems, with a focus on the transition to renewable energies and energy efficiency

Program

A 3-year course

The training is spread over six semesters, with academic semesters combined with professional internships. Those in spring (S6, S8, S10) include a period of in-company training (internship). In the third year, students can choose to complete the alternating training, which allows them to work in a company while continuing their studies.

The lessons are divided into 6 areas:

  • Humanities, Business and Professionalization
  • Science
  • Energy
  • Industrial
  • System
  • Transitions

Energy - Opportunities

Graduates are able to work on:

  • Energy production and distribution: Management of renewable energy integration projects, management of smart grids.
  • R&D and Technological Innovation: Design of energy efficiency solutions, development of electrical conversion technologies.
  • Sustainability and energy transition consulting: Life cycle analysis, low-carbon strategy consulting and support in corporate social responsibility (CSR).
  • Administration and public institutions: Development of public policies and regulations for energy infrastructure and ecological transitions.

The training opens access to a variety of positions in the energy sector, within companies, laboratories, public or private organizations, such as:

  • Design and optimize energy infrastructures for efficient integration of renewable energies.
  • Analyze and anticipate energy needs to propose energy-saving and efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to address the technical, economic and environmental challenges of the energy transition.
  • Innovate in energy management by integrating the latest advances in artificial intelligence, modeling and impact analysis.

Registration fees - Financing

  • From the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, CentraleSupélec will adapt the registration fees for the engineering course to the resources of families, in order to strengthen its commitment to equal opportunities and social openness.

Students receiving scholarships will remain exempt, while the rights of non-scholarship students will be adjusted according to their reference tax income per share:

    • Students receiving social criteria-based scholarships will remain exempt.

    • For non-scholarship students, the amount will be progressive and between €2,500 (for the 4 poorest deciles) and €5,000 (for the 2 most advantaged deciles).

This initiative aims to promote diversity and further open access to the school's excellent training programs.

A simulator for annual registration fees is available here: registration fee calculator.

The amount determined upon entry to the school will be maintained for the entire duration of schooling.
