Become an Engineer Specializing in Physics

The course trains engineers capable of combining in-depth scientific and technical expertise with a comprehensive understanding of the issues related to their field.
Students learn to use the technical tools of physics and engineering to analyze phenomena, model complex systems and propose innovative solutions, in an interdisciplinary approach.
They also develop skills in communication, teamwork and independent learning, enabling them to adapt to constantly changing technical and scientific environments.

Course Objectives:

  • Train engineers capable of modeling, designing and simulating complex physical systems.
  • Develop skills in component and systems engineering for photonics, quantum engineering and nanotechnologies.
  • Acquire a systemic and interdisciplinary vision, including an openness to the human sciences and project management.

Program

A 3-year course

The training is spread over six semesters, with academic semesters combined with professional internships. Those in spring (S6, S8, S10) include a period of in-company training (internship). In the third year, students can choose to complete the alternating training, which allows them to work in a company while continuing their studies.

The lessons are divided into areas:

  • Humanities, Business and Professionalization
  • Applied Mathematics and Digital Simulation
  • Quantum Systems, Photonics, Nanotechnologies
  • Physics, Engineering and Systems Sciences,
  • Computer Science, Data and AI

Physics - Career Opportunities

The course prepares students for careers in high-tech and research sectors, linked to applied physics and quantum technologies.

Upon completion of the training, graduates can perform various functions, including:

  • Photonics Engineer: Development of optical systems, design of lasers and telecommunications systems.
  • Quantum Engineering Researcher: Design of quantum systems for computing, communication and metrology.
  • Nanotechnology Engineer: Development of components for microelectronics and high-tech devices.
  • Project Manager in Applied Physics: Project management in cutting-edge industrial and technological environments.

Registration fees - Financing

  • Students in the engineering cycle pay a different rate depending on the conditions defined by the decree of January 2, 2015 setting the tuition fees of CentraleSupélec
The concept of EU includes the Member States of the European Union, the other States party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation.

    PriceAmount
    Full EU price*    3 660,00 €
    Half-price EU*1 830,00 €
    Full price outside the EU6 180,00 €
    Half-price outside the EU3 090,00 €

Foreign students can obtain a reduction of their registration fees at the EU rate if they meet one of the following conditions:

    • have started their studies at CentraleSupélec before September 1, 2018;
    • be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union, of another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or of the Swiss Confederation
    • be a child, spouse or partner of a national of one of the Member States of the European Union
    • be a beneficiary of long-term resident status in a State of the European Union or be a person whose father, mother or legal guardian benefits from such status
    • be the beneficiary of a temporary residence permit and dependent on a tax household located in France for at least two years
    • have joined the accelerated CentraleSupélec engineering program
    • having joined CentraleSupélec as part of a partnership.
  • The "Crous" higher education grant based on social criteria

Crous social criteria grants are awarded based on means-tested funding. Students receiving this grant are exempt from registration fees and receive a grant from the Crous (amount based on the level).

Application procedures for this grant are generally carried out from March to May for the following academic year on the website messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr

Specific annual allowance for students in difficulty

Are you a student experiencing ongoing financial difficulties? You may, under certain conditions, be eligible for the annual special allowance. This financial aid is available to you if you do not receive the social criteria education grant.
