From 06/07/2021 to 06/09/2021

The International Association for Energy Economists (IAEE) is an independent, non-profit, global membership organization for business, government, academic and other professionals concerned with energy and related issues in the international community.

This year, the IAEE conference will be held online from the 7th to the 9th of June, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Paris time every day, with 16 plenary sessions and 140 concurrent sessions, and has three main objectives:

  • It offers to bring together energy economists, policymakers and business leaders worldwide in real-time for three consecutive days.
  • It will feature mid-day keynote addresses to bring together a global audience in an expected time zone.

  • It will address the ideal climate and energy policy regime that should simultaneously respond to potentially conflicting objectives, especially in the era of COVID: ensuring energy security, promoting universal access to affordable energy services, and fostering greener and more sustainable energy systems while taking into account geopolitical and economic dimensions.

CentraleSupélec, the leader of engineering sciences in France and one of the constituent members of Paris-Saclay University, is fully committed to the conference organizers.

Professor Yannick Perez, associated with the Industrial Engineering Research Department and the Armand Peugeot chairholder, will be the General Conference Chairman. His roles are to manage the online conference, preside the scientific committee, plan and schedule conference programme: concurrent and plenary sessions. His role is also to maximize efficient use of resources, including people, time, and money. Also, he chairs all conference meetings with the event manager, sponsors, and the IAEE headquarters.

Several professors are also fully committed to the Scientific Committee of the conference. The scientific committee plays a vital role in the planning of an exciting and highly scientific conference programme.

  • Pascal da Costa, Professor at CentraleSupélec.
  • Olivier Massol, Professor at CentraleSupélec and IFP School.
  • Vincent Rious, Professor at CentraleSupélec and Expert Economist at Réseau de Transport d’Electricité.

Bassem Haidar, a PhD Student at CentraleSupélec and researcher engineer at Stellantis, is the conference manager. He works on the conference programme, acts as primary contact for the authors and presenters, and is responsible for the logistics around the concurrent sessions’ planning. Bassem is the superuser of the conference platform and manages the integration of the conference programme within the plateform. He is also the head of the organizing team, which groups more than 30 organizers.

Not only professors but also CentraleSupélec PhD students and Post-Doctoral researchers! Quentin Hoarau, Post-Doctoral researcher, and Icaro Freitas Gomes and Felipe Gonzalez Venegas, PhD students, play a vital role in this conference. They are being part of the organization team and will be session chairmen.

Researchers at the Industrial Engineering Research Department of CentraleSupélec, especially those associated with the energy economics group, will present their works and are fully committed as in the organization team.
