Breguet building construction site: at the heart of the transformation
Since November 2024, the historic Breguet building, the heart of the CentraleSupélec campus in Paris-Saclay, has been undergoing an ambitious transformation. Combining respect for history, innovation, and sustainability, this project is preparing the building for its reopening in September 2026.
Built in 1972, the Breguet building retains its architectural identity while incorporating modern environmental standards. The construction site reached several major milestones in 2025, notably this summer with the installation of the 2,500 m² glass roof and the implementation of metal and wood structures on the central hall.
See below for the video: At the heart of the transformation: the installation of the glass roof, a key step in the future Breguet building.
The building will expand from 32,000 to 36,000 m², with connected and hybrid spaces for teaching, research, and hosting businesses and start-ups. Thanks to the reuse and repurposing of materials, improved energy performance, and the greening of spaces, Breguet will be a model of a low-carbon building, already recognized last September by the 2025 BBCA Project Owner Rankings (low carbon buildings), where it ranks 2nd in France in the "renovation" category.
A place for innovation and interaction
Breguet will host:
- 3,800 m² of teaching spaces
- 10,000 m² of laboratories
- 6,500 m² of space for businesses and start-ups
- The headquarters of Paris-Saclay University and the Student Health Service
This building has been designed as an innovation accelerator, fostering collaboration between students, researchers, and businesses. It will offer flexible and adaptable spaces to accommodate both everyday uses and special events.
