La Fabrique: a unique place and catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship at CentraleSupélec
La Fabrique, CentraleSupélec's fablab, occupies a central place in the School's innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem. A true space for creation, prototyping and collaboration, La Fabrique supports the student community, researchers and project leaders in all phases of development, from idea to prototype.
A space dedicated to practical innovation
Spanning nearly 1,000 m² of workshops equipped with cutting-edge technology, La Fabrique offers technical and methodological support to transform ideas into tangible solutions. It fosters initiative, innovation through practice, and strengthens the links between training, research, and the world of entrepreneurship.
In 2025, nearly 300 projects led by students, research laboratories and start-ups were supported by La Fabrique, illustrating the extent of its action on the entire innovation ecosystem of the School.
Bringing innovation to life for everyone
La Fabrique is not limited to the CentraleSupélec student community: it also welcomes young people and local stakeholders, promoting inclusion and diversity. In particular, it partners with the Cités Éducatives network on the collaborative project "City of the Future," which welcomes over 500 middle school students each year for 10 immersive sessions in the world of engineering and innovation. The young people imagine, design, build, and test functional elements integrated into their vision of a futuristic city: energy-producing wind turbines, smart buildings, programmable autonomous robots, and more.
A key role in entrepreneurial support
The Factory plays a structuring role in the entrepreneurial pathways offered at CentraleSupélec. It complements the support system of the 21st by CentraleSupélec accelerator by offering hardware entrepreneurs easy access to high-performance manufacturing resources, such as additive manufacturing (3D printing…) or subtractive manufacturing (CNC, laser cutting…), as well as quality technical support provided by our industry engineers.
A tangible impact acceleration
Collaborations between La Fabrique, educational programs, entrepreneurship initiatives, and research laboratories create a particularly favorable ecosystem for project leaders. By combining their expertise, these stakeholders facilitate the emergence of innovative solutions in strategic areas, from artificial intelligence to environmental challenges, and help to establish CentraleSupélec as an engineering school resolutely focused on innovation.
