Agreement signed between the French Rugby Federation and CentraleSupélec
The FFR and Centrale Supélec have signed a unique agreement aimed at developing an educational, social and civic support program for young rugby club members.
This partnership is part of a shared desire: to use the values of rugby and team sport as levers for success and inclusion. The objective is to promote academic success, encourage cultural openness, and strengthen social cohesion through sports and collective engagement.
Carried by our Center for Diversity and Inclusion and young volunteers from CentraleSupélec, this system will result in the implementation of concrete actions on the ground.
The students will support young graduates through awareness sessions on careers and scientific fields, and tailored academic support activities, particularly for promising players aged 13 to 14 whose sporting commitment sometimes limits the time they spend studying. They will also work with clubs to help them structure themselves, better manage their projects, and develop their digital tools.
The program also includes opportunities for exchanges and meetings: visits to the CentraleSupélec campus, joint training sessions with the university club, and workshops on science and rugby. Inclusion and the development of women's rugby will be an integral part of the approach, with a focus on openness and diversity.
This project will be piloted in the Île-de-France region, chosen as a pilot area due to its proximity to the CentraleSupélec campus. The goal is to build a replicable model that can then be rolled out in other regional leagues, depending on the origins of the students involved in the program.
Rugby is a popular sport among our students. Our men's and women's teams consistently excel at the university level.
Recently, the CRC has won prestigious titles such as:
- French 7s and XV vice-champion 2023
- 2022 and 2024 X Cup
- Île-de-France Champion 2022 and 2023
For many years, the School has also organized one of the most prestigious university rugby 7s tournaments in the world: the CentraleSevens.
