Grand Challenge of Engineering Schools: Two victories for CentraleSupélec
CentraleSupélec received two awards at the Grand Challenge des écoles d'ingénieurs organized by L'Usine Nouvelle, thanks to two innovative projects distinguished in the “Security and Defense” and “Ecomobility” categories. This recognition is a testament to the scientific and technological excellence demonstrated by the students and their supervisors.

On May 15 in Paris, TheNew Factory revealed the winners of its Grand Challenge of Engineering Schools which each year honors the most promising projects led by engineering students and young graduatesThis initiative highlights innovative projects across five major future themes: Engineering 4.0, Environment and Energy, Security and Defense, Health Innovation, and Ecomobility.
Among the winners, CentraleSupélec stood out brilliantly with two rewarded projects, in two distinct categories:
In “Security and Defense”, the DiffGuard project conducted in collaboration with Thales, stood out for its proposal of a Open source AI capable of detecting risky imagesA valuable tool at a time when the circulation of sensitive and artificially generated content poses major challenges.
In the “Ecomobility” category, it is the Beam Recognition project, made with Valeo, which improves the adjustment of automobile headlights using artificial intelligence algorithms, thus enabling better driving comfort and increased safety, while optimizing energy consumption.
These two projects were carried out within the Artificial Intelligence project center, coordinated by Wassila Ouerdane (MICS) and Jean-Philippe Poli (CEA List). This distinction is a wonderful recognition for this collective work which combines scientific rigor, technological creativity and collaboration with leading industrial players.
Congratulations to Massine El Khader, Elias Al Bouzidi, Abdellah Oumida, Mohammed Sbaihi, Eliott Binard for the DiffGuard project and Agathe Plu and Paul Creusy for the Beam Recognition project, as well as to their supervisors for this double victory which illustrates, once again, the excellence and commitment of the School's students, supported by their teachers, to meet the technological challenges of tomorrow!
