A look back at CentraleSupélec's commitments to Sustainable Development
The commitment of CentraleSupélec The commitment to a sustainable future has steadily grown stronger in recent years. Through a series of structuring initiatives, the School has progressively integrated environmental, social, and societal issues into the heart of its strategy. Here is a chronological look back at the key stages of this transformation.
2021: A strategic framework to structure action
Starting in 2021, CentraleSupélec is implementing its Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (SD&SR) master plan. This strategic framework organizes the School's actions around six priority areas:
- Strategy and governance
- Training
- Research
- Social Policy
- Student life
- Environmental management of campuses
This master plan aims to structure and coordinate all initiatives related to sustainable development, in order to embed these commitments in all dimensions of the institution.

This ambition is being realized in particular through more sustainable infrastructure projects. The new Breguet building (CentraleSupélec) is an illustration of this: it is certified low-carbon building and is in line with the School's desire to limit the environmental impact of its campuses.
2025: Raising student awareness and promoting sustainable mobility
In 2025, CentraleSupélec launches a Climate Label GuideThis guide, designed to support students in analyzing companies' environmental commitments, was co-created with a group of volunteer students and their representatives for the ecological transition, illustrating the importance given to student involvement.

A continued decrease in carbon footprint
In 2020, CentraleSupélec carried out its very first carbon footprint assessment for its three campuses, on a "Scope 3" i.e. including indirect emissions.
Since then, the School's carbon footprint has steadily decreased. This consecutive reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions was recently recognized by Greenly, a B Corp certified company, based on a methodology validated by ADEME, for the year 2024.
