Science & Society
Our world is at a critical juncture: the energy and ecological transition, health and quality of life for all, and the preservation of sovereignty are the challenges of our time. In this context, CentraleSupélec is evolving its research activities to have a major impact in addressing these challenges.

Issues and impacts
The gravity and urgency of the situation require a tremendous mobilization of research, particularly in the engineering sciences. The school's research center is thus committed to developing innovative solutions to preserve the environment, improve health, and contribute to global balance. This commitment does not replace the goal of excellence in scientific fields, which is at the heart of the laboratories' research, but clarifies our ambition to have a strong impact on the future.
Our strategy is consistent with that of the Graduate School of Engineering and Systems Sciences, which CentraleSupélec coordinates within the University of Paris-Saclay. The school is thus fully in line with the richness and diversity of the exceptional scientific research developed by the University of Paris-Saclay, ranked among the Top 20 universities in the world and first in continental Europe. This unique environment fosters CentraleSupélec's strategic themes and gives its research a volume and impact that the institution could not achieve alone, in particular by enabling collaboration on major interdisciplinary projects (in the fields, for example, of medicine, climate science or quantum computing).
The Research Center is fully committed to this dynamic of innovation and develops numerous collaborations with its academic, institutional, and industrial partners, both locally and internationally. This ambition is driven by the commitment of the school's researchers and research staff, who work with passion and determination to create and promote the ideas and technologies of the future. These will be driven by our industrial partners or startups emerging from our laboratories.
We also believe that the excellence of our research is a major asset for the training of our engineers and doctoral students. Their learning is constantly enriched by scientific advances and ongoing research projects, preparing them to take on the most complex challenges of our time. There's no shortage of challenges, but our laboratories are ready for battle!
