Jean Maillard, engineer and doctoral student at the School (EM2C laboratory) is the winner of the famous Filippi Spirit Award for rowing. This is the first time that this prize has been awarded to a Frenchman.

Each year, this prize is awarded to a university rower who has demonstrated the fundamental values of rowing in these fields and rewards the university club of the nominee with a competition boat worth 40.000€. As Jean himself declared when he took to the stage, this prize rewards the collective efforts of several generations of students and rowers involved in the club and who, each year, carry out their studies at the same time with a significant associative and sporting investment.

To get to know Jean better:

  • He is the former president of the rowing club Aviron Centrale Paris.
  • Rewarded with two podiums at the national championships.
